It's a billion+ dollar industry, and it is certainly full of it's hoaxes and kool-aids.ĭealers unfortunately are also aware of those potions and the not so educated drivers who use them. I'm religious about fluids in vehicles and certainly it's not an easy subject to discuss. They are all good but serve different purposes. I am fully aware that I am comparing Apples to Oranges when it comes to those engines/cars. Now if you're one of those people that can't let go of that 1%, then by all means put a lesser oil in your Z to CYA. You're worrying about something that has more than a 99% chance of not happening under normal circumstances. I'd go with Motul 300V and call it a day. It may be very well just a good oil like M1 EP, and that Mobil is just using marketing strategies to gain a few more bucks for something that we all know is good and off the shelf available around the corner. She did, and after 2 months of deliberation, they decided to tear the engine down to still see what happened.įew weeks later, they decided to replace the engine due known mechanical failure. Still seized because it's a POS.įirst thing they told her: No records of oil change, or type and grade of oil. Ironically, my Sisters Kia engine seized recently. This issue has been beaten to death, I don't need to know I'm ok with OLIVE oil. I know, I know, "Above existing standards" as posted on Motul site. It does NOT carry the API ILSAC/ API SN certification as required in the owners manual. Like I said, I don't want to discuss this issue. What does Motul 300V have to do with the warranty? Just curious.
